Republicans

"Today's Republican Party is broken and corrupt. And they are not my friend, any more than they are yours. They are only interested in themselves...

The leadership is weak, wasteful, misguided and out of sync with the people. The signs are all there, from Dede Scozzafava, to Charlie Crist - and worse.

And even if they reclaim this, or that majority in the fall, we will most likely see the same old politics as usual that so frustrated the Right under Bush. You don't really believe they are going to repeal ObamaCare and tell millions of people expecting health insurance at taxpayer expense they can't have it, do you? That will be politically imprudent to our Beltway ensconced GOP.

Illegal immigration? Led by soon to be ex-border cop John McCain, assuming he's re-elected, they will be calling us racists and haters, again. They have to worry about that Hispanic vote, after all..."

Vile Humor

Warren the Ape.

I laughed, but it ain't right.

Which is precisely why I laughed!

Awww Crap!!

Very bad news regarding Christopher Hitchens, he has esophageal cancer.

Very bad news to hear. His thoughts and wit are important. I deeply disagree with him on a variety of matters, but he commands respect. He stands for openness and erudition and perceives the danger of our insane political class and the MSM and the university dhimmis et. al., and speaks quite articulately on those matters.

I pray for him regardless of his notions of prayer and religion.

Go and read any of his work and wish him well please.

via Little Miss Attila

Little Miss also links to the lovely and meaningful observation by WSJ's Mr. Taranto regarding the write up of two Southern Senator's passing.

Byrd and Thurmond.

Yikes. A liberal is better off repeating "...carry on...nothing to see here...move along now..." than trying to assert that the NYTimes is not nauseatingly leftist with these two obits side by side and by the same writer.

I know the drill though. When in a discussion "not liberal" as pertains the NYTimes means "not communist enough so it doesn't count." I am thinking of a discussion with a baby-boomer named Ricky and a conversation of about a dozen years back. Some will recognize the name. I will add a librarian to that...oh well...

Two Klansmen, two Senators, obits written by the same NYtimes liberal. Daily propaganda.

Photosynthesis and Our Energy Future!!

Yay!

The subject came up earlier and I was mistaken in thinking that I heard this as a TED lecture, it is a Poptech lecture.

Daniel Nocera gives good good news. Our fingers should be crossed with anticipation.

As I take photos I find myself working to frame them without the power lines at times.

I hope the power lines will be quaint someday very soon.

I had read somewhere that the platinum needed for all of the fuel cells would be an Achilles heel at the very least.

There seems to be good news on that front as well.

I also notice this 5.11 product, a very nice flashlight which charges in 90 seconds. (I have a 5.11 watch, thank you sir!) I have not looked closely but I would assume it must be one of the new generation of exceedingly robust capacitors which we have been reading about for a few years at least now...How could you not want that flashlight? Sadly, Luddites continue to walk among us.

Anyhow, enjoy the lecture if you are so disposed:

Boy Oh Boy

I hope that JournOlist material emerges, I want to heat up the popcorn right now.

I don't know how IowaHawk is so damned good at creating the hilarious juvenile atmosphere, and don't care. It made me laugh.

As for Charles Johnson and Andrew Sullivan---I too had great respect for them once upon a time.

I hope the left doesn't steal and hold hostage Breitbart's puppy and turn his leaf like they managed with those other formerly fine fellows.

Breitbart speaks very well and clearly here regarding his $100,000 bounty and integrity, and I very much wish him success in his tilting at the political elite and fourth estate.

Tar and feathers.

For the fourth estate first, then the political class.

There is no hope for us until the very air is downy with ignominy.

Lastly, just to be fair, here is Weigel as interviewed over at National Review.

Typical journalist, playing every angle against the center.

To hell with him. He is a weasel.

Good Lord

I hope Breitbart get's the Journolist material.

I took a gander over at LGF, he is still off of his rocker.

I like the Pamela Gorman ad though, I will encourage Scott to encourage those in AZ to give her their votes.

In the DVD

Firefly.

It's pretty good.

SR-71

Jimmy has a very cool video of a blackbird RC model.

Hey, it looks like it could be dangerous, it shouldn't be allowed to put my right to safety in peril.

Freedom From/Freedom To

I have quite often said-(really?--yes, really) that the difference between good old fashioned liberty loving patriots and the lame "liberal" jack assess we are being overrun by is in the very sense itself of what "freedom" implies.

I have said that an older style patriot considers freedom a space through which "to" live out passions and dreams unaccosted.

A "liberal" perceives life to be lived within the nerfy safety of government and community which provides freedom "from" ill outcomes and the risks which may lead to them.

In the travesty which is the 5-4 decision of McDonald vs Chicago today--Imagine seeing that the court was one vote from telling you that you could not speak your mind--it is stated by each of the 4 dissenters that the second amendment puts people in jeopardy.

Ilya Somen has it summed up quite nicely over at Volokh. Read it all if you have the time, it is important.

The rights of individuals to self defense endowed by our creator are clearly seen through the prism of, not being free "to protect themselves" but needing the government to provide a space for them to be free "from harm".

We have all seen how well that works out everywhere from D.C. to Chicago to Canada to England to Australia, and Oh, yes, the U.N. is working hard to keep us "Free from" our own self reliance as well.

Terrible times.

Liberal, progressive, call it what you will, it is abandonment of personal freedom.

The Kinks

I very much enjoy the music of the Kinks and am informed through visiting Althouse that Mr. Quaife has passed.

I'm sorry 'bout that one Adam...

Weigel

I had just finished a quick post about Weigel of the WaPo.

The copy paste involved font color changes.

Daily Caller I wish well, but I ain't futzing around in order to link them and post that, oh well.

Weigel is a propagandist and I hope he keeps his job.

Another one out in the open.

Update: I was very late to the game. He is out.

I would not have wished for his termination, did not, actually.

Ida

I have no idea who this goofy broad is, but she has some fine music posted, if you ask me...

Paddio

Sent over a few links that look to be quite neato, to pull a phrase from the past.

I will just copy and paste as there are several:

"http://www.mindenpictures.com - cool pics here

got there from this dudes slide show - couple of crazy ones - http://www.doctorbugs.com/soundslide_test/small.html

there is an odd interview about his ant research and passion with the dude here down loadable or streaming audio - http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=127238974

This one is a pretty interesting interview too - http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=127930650

and have not listened to this but Oliver Sacks is usually an interest peeker - http://www.wnyc.org/shows/radiolab/?utm_source=top&utm_medium=widget&utm_campaign=radiolab"

The photography and the Comanche kidnapping look like very valuable and thought provoking material, but there is quite a bit there...

Thank you Paddy

Liberals, Progressives, Democrats

Whatever the hell you may call yourselves.

Just a quick note to insist you rot in an especially unpleasant place for eternity.

We all know that if Muslims, who are working towards sharia, were distributing material and prevented, liberals would be rushing the gates.

The media would be struggling as hard as they did to get women into Augusta, funny that one, no?

And yet...take a look.

Liberals who advocate for P.C. are not liberal and ARE dangerous to liberty.

They are also too stupid to realize or take responsibility for the monstrosity they are working towards.

Muslims and their Dhimmis, it is no longer funny.

Tar and feathers for the media and the liberals first. The muslims later.

Fouad Ajami

Worth the read more now than a year ago.

I noticed it a couple of hops down from Neo-neocon.

I would correct Mr. Zuckerman in this, certainly:

"Obama clearly wishes to do good and means well."

Obama does, and will be seen as good and well meaning, or else.

Zuckerman's piece should be read, all of it.

NPR president?

You don't say.

Awful times we are in.

Just a Pic or So

I assure you the gentleman in the first photo is fishing!

Someone out West sent a lovely pic on the phone and I must request her permission to reprint as it were...Which I will, and I apologize for the delay! Mea Culpa!

Had some camera concerns but here, before what I hope is a lovely sleep, are a couple quick ones.

I was worried to hook anything up, and then this 'puter is old and slow, so now I am off to bed...

Another Attention Grubbing Slimey Politico

Blumenthal demands info regarding Google collecting unsecured data.

It has been previously noted.

Who deserves less trust, Google, or your government?

You might suggest, "what's the difference?" but then you are echoing the notions of those who were condemned for worrying to begin with, no?

BP Figure Gave Rahm Emanuel Free Rent

De Lauro, Rahm Emanuel, D.C., Free Rent, BP, just go and read.

I won't even say heat up the tar, that could be actionable under some form of ridicule statute at some point in time. Now, or in the future. Perhaps retroactively, or with anonymous tips or shoddy record keeping.
