Helicopter Friday

Missed last week entirely. Will try to post a couple of items.

Here are some Frenchies mowing a little grass (some of this clip has been here before, but not the first portion):

More Frenchies:

Helicopter Friday

It's helicopter Friday.

Wow does that look like a fun little machine so long as it works and doesn't do the ol' neck snapper into the dirt...

I have always wanted to try the ultralights

here is a Russian all weather item going into production, the Alligator

a little more Ka

and yet more

This one is for Mr. Kelly. A bird looking pretty and saving people down in the D.R.

Not a helicopter in this one but, ask me sometime, I have seen far worse behavior in libraries.

Here is a low level pass from a 747, also not a helicoper:

FYI

If anyone is trying to reach me I believe my cell phone is not retrievable until mid afternoon tomorrow.

Leave a message if important...I will check.

I think I know where it is...

Connectivity

Will have the intertubewires all weekend. Have some work to do but should post more regularly over next couple of days.

Aren't we all lucky now?

Sheep?

FmFt on printing money.

Instapundit links to this question of how far they can drive us...as few and vulnerable as they are, even as cozy with their new raises and flak running media, I'd submit only as far as we let them. I lost respect for us as along the way but Patriotism is a tenacious conceit.

I have mentioned more than once if you had told me years ago that in the near future our representatives and media were being run down in the street and tarred and feathered and made to viscerally FEEL FEAR AND WORSE...I would have said that society had completely broken down and anarchy must be the order of the day.

Now if you told me it had occurred this morning I would finally feel some hope.

Ship Ice Breaking

with people walking alongside. Sounds kind of like hiking with strangers. Neat video J sent over:

That's Sick

The Arc in Vegas jumped and dropped by Robbie Maddison.

My eyes were flooded, and my vision was blurred on takeoff,” he admitted in an exclusive interview with me before he left town over the weekend. “I waved to the people out there before the jump as if everything was fine, but, being brutally honest, I was terrified. I realized at that very moment, I was mad to be doing this.

“When that g-force hit me, I knew I’d made one error that could have proved fatal. I left the ramp wrong and realized on the way up my body weight was too far back -- a matter of fractions, but enough where I could have lost control. Believe it or not, but I had to move my body just a little bit further forward mid-air, otherwise I might have hit the arch and crashed backwards to the ground instead of getting up, over and down into it. If I hadn’t forced myself through the g-force, I’d have been a goner.”

Practicing doesn't look all that much more safe:

Is This Funny?

I laughed a little, but afterwards I wasn't quite sure. Mark Wahlberg Talks to Animals:

Baby Platypi?

Or Platypuses?

The answer to the question of "what do you call baby platypuses?" is:

Puggles!

Or so I thought. Until I came across this bit:

'A baby platypus is not called a puggle, which seems to be a common misconception. There is no official name for a baby platypus, but a common suggested name is "platypup".'

No one wanted to chime in on that one?

I thought Jay might win. Or Adam or Paddy.

Oh well...they are very freaky those fellers.

Ricky Gervais

You're a idiot dum dum if you don't go to his blog or itunes and listen to his podcasts...

"...it's the worst animal I ever heard...aahhh...oooohhhh f-ing hell what a useless animal that is" "they eat lettuce"...and many other lovely quotes...

carry on.

Don't Let Up

"Is Gaza under Israeli occupation? No. The Israelis withdrew from the enclave to a man in 2005. Is Hamas a legitimate ruler in Gaza? No way. It seized power there in 2007, as the result of a civil war against the Palestinian Authority. Has Hamas engaged in systematic aggression against Israel ever since then? Yes. Is it conducting repeated, blind shelling against civilians in southwest Israel? Yes. Has Hamas abducted an Israeli soldier, Gilad Shalit, on Israeli soil, and does it keep him as a hostage, which is under international law a crime against humanity? Yes. Has Hamas one-sidedly announced it was canceling a several-month lull with Israel? Yes. Does it publicly list the destruction of the Israeli republic and of the Israeli society as political aims? Yes. Under such conditions, Israel’s right to make war on Hamas and to destroy it is absolute."

Look for Israel to strike Iran before January 20th. It is the perfect opportunity to use American assets while Bush says "we didn't do it" at the same time that B. Hussein Obama says "hey, I ain't president yet..."

Dogfish Head

Here is a great article.

Having met Sam and others working on those wonderful items all I can say is:

God Bless Them!!!

I am Compelled

to agree:

9:27: "How cold is it in New York? Look at that jacket! What a candyass!" I exclaim, looking at Ryan Seacrest — whoops for a second there I called him Ryan Seaquest — who is wearing an overstuffed down jacket and ear muffs. We've turned on "Dick Clark's New York Rockin' Eve" — or whatever it's called. I check my iPhone. It's 19° in NYC. So: candyass! They go to commercial, and we switch to "South Park."
