Helicopter Friday

It's Helicopter Friday.

Here is an MD with NOTAR taking off:

Here is an artist who is inspired by rotary wings and other birds. You can see his work "Ahead of the Storm" at the bottom of this page.

Don't stand up there

That is not a chopper!:

In the DVD Player

"Strangers with Candy: Season One Disc One"

I know a guy who has spoken with someone who worked in some kind of a school system and the word is that this was filmed as a raw reality program but they had to re-market it because people can't handle the truth...I heard that...from someone...that's all raw 'n real footage...

The verisimilitude which smacks one in the face throughout "Who Wants Cake?" is beyond any kind of artistic representation...

Balancing Rocks

Wow is this some impressive balancing.

NASA's Larry King Simulator

Now that's funny.

NASA Simulator Prepares Astronauts For Rigors Of An Interview With Larry King

In the DVD

Last night's second feature was "Wisconsin Death Trip". It was beautifully filmed and interspersed with actual photos from the area taken in the late 19th century.

Very nicely done and bizarre.

None too cheery, perhaps not what the Doctor ordered.

In the DVD

Earth Rise

"In the Shadow of the Moon"

Excellent piece which consists of interviews with the astronauts over imagery of the missions.

Alan Bean is actually quite the talented artist, and some of the Moon material has made it's way into his art and not just figuratively...just read his technique. His work is beautiful, I would love to see some examples in person.

Don't tell the bureaucrats...

Who knows the paperwork they could require.

Krampus

Jimmy's been drinking some. Here's a bit on the matter.

In the DVD

"I Like Killing Flies"

Update: I love food damnit. What happened, I was a butter on noodle person, and now? Now I love eating and watching and cooking food.

Yum.

In the DVD

"You Don't Mess with the Zohan"

I think it's a thriller or a mystery or something.

Update: Yup. That's a mystery.

And something larger as well, in fact largest elephant ever? (republican jokes in comments are welcome):
