Dominican Shrew
I believe Mr. Kelly is staging for another field mission to study Dominican shrews.

Coast also links to this story of a "Luminous Feline" incident.
It's all true.
Paddy mentioned the Moon over the weekend.
It was the Wolf moon...uh oh...

May do well to join Mr. David Barry.
I unfortunately must part with Bubba, the miracle cat of wisdom...
I wish that I had taken on the kitty responsibilities for the entire week, now that I must go...

Pawn Tactics
Xavier (Nurse with a Gun) has some thoughts on working pawnshops to the best advantage viz a viz firearms.
In these times of distress you must look for the bright spots, and I believe there should be some lovely opportunities to mitigate the gloom. This gentleman Xavier's thoughts are much appreciated.
Thank you for the tips Sir!
Here is an amusing comic from a blog called A Keyboard and a .45 which I noticed on NWAG's blogroll:

-80 degrees in Tok, AK
This lady blogs from Alaska, and it has been fiercely cold of late.
"I’m still looking for a thermometer for the house that will register lower than -60 degrees. Any ideas?"
I'm giving that the medal for quote of the week.
Damnit I love AK, I want to go back.
The mug is not enough...

What Some Guys Do for Stress
Sheesh. Boy, that fellow has been all wound up for quite sometime:
"Andre Thomas, 25, was arrested for the fatal stabbings of his estranged wife, their young son and her 13-month-old daughter in March 2004. Their hearts also had been ripped out. He was convicted and condemned for the infant's death...
[he recently] pulled out his only good eye and told authorities he ate it."

It's helicopter Friday.
Wow does that look like a fun little machine so long as it works and doesn't do the ol' neck snapper into the dirt...
I have always wanted to try the ultralights
here is a Russian all weather item going into production, the Alligator
a little more Ka
and yet more
This one is for Mr. Kelly. A bird looking pretty and saving people down in the D.R.
Not a helicopter in this one but, ask me sometime, I have seen far worse behavior in libraries.
Here is a low level pass from a 747, also not a helicoper:

Instapundit links to this question of how far they can drive us...as few and vulnerable as they are, even as cozy with their new raises and flak running media, I'd submit only as far as we let them. I lost respect for us as along the way but Patriotism is a tenacious conceit.
I have mentioned more than once if you had told me years ago that in the near future our representatives and media were being run down in the street and tarred and feathered and made to viscerally FEEL FEAR AND WORSE...I would have said that society had completely broken down and anarchy must be the order of the day.
Now if you told me it had occurred this morning I would finally feel some hope.
