London Elections

I'll have to check in to this interesting race. It seems that while Bush is given credit for alienating the rest of the world with his conservatism, leftists have been repeatedly shown the door. It is o.k. to dislike both!!

I realize that is something of a non-sequitor, but you may glimpse a little of the connections my febrile gray matter is attempting to form.

God bless the U.S. and the U.K.!!

'Puter

Well that indecipherable truck photo below is the result of the computer taking a bath. It is still acting very strangely...It is the one I was so eager to ebay, rats.

If I had hocked it last week this would not be a problem, or it would be a problem with the new computer...I was washing a pint glass by hand and sometimes with a little water in the glass some water will go a distance as you shove the sponge in, and it did. It went the distance clear across the room and straight into the keyboard. very difficult to type now, it is changing it is going in and out of capslock like it knows how best to screw with me...

GruMBle grumble grumble. Try wandering the internet without being able to rely on typing a "dot"

and all of these photos to post, you folks are lucky in that respect, they are not going up without much effort, and there will be fewer as a result.

Oh Dear, Seal Attempts to Rape a Penguin

That seal needs to be on the offender registry.

What a Lovely Camera!!

Why it's made from aluminum, titanium, brass, silver, gem stones and...oh yeah...the 150 year old skull of a 13 year old girl.

North Platte Wedgie

They aren't putting up with that.

'The police spokesman said they are ever vigilant and on the lookout for wedgies here.

"You might get away with that in Lincoln or Omaha," the spokesman said. "But we're not going to allow wedgies in North Platte"...The spokesman said they planned to put a stop to the wedgies before they escalate into full-blown melvins or atomic wedgies.'

Indian Baby Dropping Ritual

Careful with that! Actually there are plenty more where that came from...

Don't Mingo Against the Walls

The incomparable Boston1775 has a piece on rules for Harvard freshman from 1741 which includes a note on the first known use of the term "john" for privy.

Other Boston1775 links, but just mosey on over and look around.

That Family is Really Tightening Their Belts

The WaPo has this piece:

"Another friend recommends buying a phalaenopsis orchid plant that lasts months instead of spending 20 euros a week on cut flowers."

That after "...we calculated that cutting out one restaurant meal would save around $200 a week, or $800 a month! This was a shock -- could we really be spending so much on eating out? Yes!"
