Those tail rotors don't seem symmetrically placed (can't quite tell). The scissor shaped set up was distinctive of the long ignored stealth chopper from Vietnam ops.

How many people can you fit in a stealth Blackhawk? Must have been tight.
Update: Here is Porter Goss obviously the worst poker player ever, look at 1:10, , and it jibes with the stated construction of the compound.
Bin Laden was using thumb drives. How do you get info off of a thumb drive at a distance?
It's really just an rfid that needs to be lit up, no?
The folks can microwave them and receive from satellites, a window and not worrying about your subject would work, no?
So what compromised the asset to the extent that you make a public display?

Helicopter Friday
Chinook extraction, a highly compelling Chinook extraction.
I find it mesmerizing and inspiring.
I find that footage so compelling words fail, (I even reused "compelling").
God Bless those soldiers! God Bless them and their families from the bottom of the heart!
I will put up a few links for veterans groups that are worth contributing towards. They are a wonderful avenue and provide a genuine positive assisstance to participate in at this time of year or any other. I will ask Jimmy as well, he knows some good ones as I recall.
There was some sort of silly friction with the group that I participated in for Thanksgiving and Easter and Christmas, though it was not military in focus, and now I am unaware of how it all stands for this season. I believe I will just show up to help box and deliver and speed matters along, why must people resort to being people and making things all awkward anyhow in the first place;)?

How Difficult was Your Day?
A very compelling Apache helicopter couple of videos. You can hear the professionalism mingled with concern and bureaucracy.

To my ignorant eyes it seems to have that slower respond and rocket only quality, but who knows?

It's been a while.
Homey sent over this cool video of a man catching a marlin from a Robinson helicopter. In fact his helicopter was his only tackle--er, not including actually tackling the fish.
This "Light-Craft" spins and flies. So it's in for HF. It is a beamed energy propulsion saucer. Neat.

Best weather in a long spell. I stood in a river in sleet making a fool of myself the other day and tried to play it off as "fishing".

More Helicopter Friday
That unfortunate gentleman who slipped and fell over Niagra Falls this week was clearly too shaken up to cooperate with his rescue.
A seven year old boy lived after the boat he was in capsized and spilled him over the falls in 1960.
A man was unharmed after he went over without protection several years ago.
I was unaware of Robert Overacker but this is some last photo:
Robert Overcracker rides a jetski over the brink of the Horseshoe Falls to help promote awareness for the homeless. His parachute did not open and Robert ended up promoting better parachutes. He plunged to his death and his body was never recovered. An Egyptian tourist captured this amazing image.
They forced this week's subject towards rescue with rotor wash.

My favorite water fall daring image involves the Devil's pool and Victoria falls. I have mentioned it before.
Which reminds me of the photographer I noticed again recently George Seinmetz. Wow!
