Boston1775, interesting as always, mentions a service which conscripts logon function for websites into the service of decoding texts which are being digitized.

Another post mentions Naushon Island, here is an NRO article on that island.

The professor who published the paper and developed the technology is based at CMU. He's taught most of my friends in a very cool but terrifying class. He's generally awesome; GWAP.com is another one of his projects (he actually pre-beta tested a few of the games using said friends last semester).
