"I didn't think it was that big of a deal — [administrators] tried to pin animal cruelty on me."

Sarah Friedson said she wanted to walk Coco to school because her uncle did the same thing when he was at Staples at the height of the gasoline crisis in the 1970s.

Her uncle was applauded at school and invited to ride his horse downtown, where the Friedsons used to have a store called the Tack Room.

"Times have changed a lot," she said.

This country has just completely lost all fortitude and that Jackass Obama will be one of the last nails in the casket.

Break the rules, pay the the price. I don't see the big deal. Maybe the school over reacted, but she was told not to bring the animal on the grounds. It was a cause of disruption. That was her intent, after all. It was a self described prank. Her father's surely eating up all the free press his tack biz will get from this coverage.

Ha ha ha, you have your pony with you. Now walk it home and you have detentions and all the rest. Involving the police is just asinine, nobody settles matters amongst themselves anymore. That's why there is so much work for lawyers and politicians and cops as well.

I remember the Tack Room; it spent many successful years in downtown Westport, along with many other mom & pop shops that have vanished in the name of 'progress'...

Times sure have changed, indeed.
